The Jugal Kishore temple is one of the fourth most temple in the series of oldest temples. The Jugal Kishore temple is the only temple to have the original deity which is still worshipped in its original old temple in Vrindavan.

About the temple:

The Jugal Kishore temple was constructed during the reign of Mughal Emperor Jahangir in Sambat 1684 by the founder named as Non-Karan. The temple was one of the approved temples constructed by the Gaudiya Vaishnavas.

The tale that revolves around the temple involves Krishna slaying the horse demon Keshi along the Yamuna River. The place where he performed this heroic task is known by a temple called the Keshi Ghat Temple, also known as the Jugal Kishore or Jugal Kisore Temple.

The Jugal Kishore temple in the series of oldest temple built up of Red sandstone with its choir quite larger around 25 square feet comparative to others and has the main entrance at the eastern end. During the tour to Vrindavan, you can visit one of the important pilgrimage spot i.e., Jugal Kishore Temple located by the holy River Yamuna, which is one of the preferred centre for sacred dip/bathing places for devotees.

You can feel effervescent ambience in Jugal Kishore Temple, especially during the evening when the dark paths are brightening by the lit lamps and holy chants levitate your soul. And for a rather riveting sight, this temple is best visited during the Aarti time, when it is a visual delight that is bound to impress any pilgrim or devotee.

Entry Fees, Aarti Timings & Mandir Opening Timings:

There is no Entry Fees to visit the temple and the temple is open all days. But the best time to visit here is January, February & March. The Mandir opens at 7:00am to 12:00pm in the morning & 4:00pm to 9:00 pm in the evening during summer. And 7:30am to 12:30pm in the morning & 3:00pm to 8:30pm in the evening during winters.

Jugal Kishore Temple is nearest to mathura railway station Junction which is 10 KM away from the temple. This temple is located at the lower end of the town near Keshi Ghat and thus also called as Keshi Ghat temple, at Gotam Nagar, Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh 281121.
