ISKCON temple is made up of white marbles. Walls of the temple beautifully describe Lord Krishna’s paintings and teachings that depicts his personal life. The temple is filled with devotees, especially foreign tourist. Lord Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated grandly every year. About The Temple:
The temple is believed to be located at the exact place where Lord Krishna played with other children some 5000 years ago. He along with his brother would herd their Cows at Raman Reti near Yamuna River.
It was established in 1975 by the philosopher and founder of ISCKON, A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada under his supervision. As you put your steps into the beautiful structure built by white marbles, you will across an archway along with winding peacock stairways on each side.
Major attractions of Temple:
Here, you can find three altars, in the first altar you can find an idol of Sri Sri Gaura Nitai, the incarnation of Nityananda Prabhu and Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu; in the second or center are the deities of Sri Krishna and Balaram, the divine brothers. And on the third altar are the idols of Sri Sri Radha Shyamasundara and the gopis, Vishakha, and Lalita. After the demise of Swami Prabhupada, his Samadhi is in the front of the temple. He set up ISKCON Organisation in 1996 in New York. This organization is solely based on the traditional Hindu beliefs of Bhagavad Gita. Iskcon Institution is wholly dedicated to Lord Krishna.
The environment is very pious that leads devotees to paradise. Lord Krishna evening Aarti (Prayer) is very popular. The popular song “Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare” is collectively sung by Priest and the devotees and traditional clothes are still holding by the people. Religious books, jewelry and traditional clothes sell within the premises.
Entry Fees, Aarti Timings & Mandir Opening Timings:
There are no Entry fees to visit the temple. The Mandir Timings are 4:00AM - 12:45PM in morning and 4:15PM - 8:45PM. The timings are subjected to change on special occasions, festivals & events.
