The meaning of Radha Raman is the lover (ramana) of Srimati Radha. The temple was established over 500 years ago by Gopala Bhatta Goswami. The beautiful Deity here is self-manifested from a saligram sila and has a mystic beautiful smile on his face.

Sri Radha Raman’s idol is installed in the temple, next to the samadhi of Gopala Bhatta. Gopala Bhatt Swami placed the deity on the full moon day in the month of Vaishaka (April-May) in the year 1542. On this day, an event is celebrated every year by bathing the idol of deity with milk and various other items. Gopala Bhatta Gosvami’s other shalagram-shilas are also worshiped in the temple. 

About the Temple:

The very revered Radharamana temple marks its presence to be one of the holiest temples in Vrindavan and Mathura. It deserves a visit by the devotees of Radha & Krishna. It is also the must visit place for the lovers of craft & art.  

With the first rays of sun that spread across the sky, Shri Radharaman wakes up. At the auspicious time of Mangla Aarti the eager devotees swarm into the temple, to quench their thirst for the nectar of his beauty. The Aarti binds the divine Youth with the protection of his love, and dispelling any negative energy that might bring him harm. 

Major Attractions of Temples: 

The major attraction about the temple is that the Radha Ramana is one of the few original deities left in Vrindavan, otherwise most of the original deities are sent to Jaipur for the safeguard from Mughal Emperors. In addition, another major attraction that you must not fail to notice here in this temple is the cooking fire. The fires for cooking in the kitchen of the temple have been burning continuously since the idols of deities was installed over 460 years ago and the cooking still follows cookbooks from that time. 

The temple has no deity of Radharani, but a crown is kept next to Krishna signifying her presence in the temple. The Radha Raman temple is beautifully crafted and is one of the most admired temples in Vrindavan, especially the followers of Gaudiya Vaishnavism respect the Mandir more. The temple is large and is located in the riverside area, with adds to its scenic beauty.

Entry fees, Aarti Timings & Mandir opening timings: 

There is no entry fee to visit the temple. During summer, temple opens from 08:00AM till 12:30PM And evening again temple opens at 6:00PM And closed by 9:00PM. The Managal Aarti is performed at 5:30AM in summers & 5:00AM in winters.

The temple is located at 2KM from Vrindavan Railway Station. The Radha Raman Temple is in the Chamunda Colony in Rajpur Bangar in Vrindavan and one can use local transport to commute to the temple such as auto rickshaws and buses.
