The Shahji temple is one of the best temple from the holy place of Vrindavan in the Mathura. This mandir is peculiar in its own feature and has received lots of popularity due to its glorious structure. 

The temple was constructed in year 1876 by the order passed from a wealthy merchant named Shah Kundan Lal ji, this premise is one of the important tourist attraction on holy Land of Shri krishan. 

About the temple:

The complex of this temple is a magnificently framed, displaying impressive structural skills. It has spiral grooved pillars with 15 feet high each provide this temple another name as Tera Kamba (twisted pillars) temple and the Saha Bihari Lal Temple.

The temple was built in 1835 by Shah Kundan Lal and Shah Fundan Lal, some people says that when both brother died they wished to engrave their body on the floor of temple entrance instead of burn or throw in river. This was so to stay with dust of Vrindavan till the existence of world. 

Major Attractions of Temple:

In this temple,there is very impressive Darbar Hall of Radha-Raman, called the Basanti Kamra room also known as the yellow room, because it has complete yellow decoration. There are various chandeliers of pretty begium glass in the hall. The hall is supposed to open twice a year for visitors: first on Vasant Panchami and secondly for two days before Balarama’s Appearance Day, during the Jhulan Yatra swing festival.

Additional Feature of hight quality white marble twisted pillars provide major attraction to the people for their visit. Here, are some eye catching paintings on wall which imbricate the interior of the temple. Even if you are atheist minded you are sure to enjoy a visit to this temple because of its beauty.

Entry Fees, Aarti Timings & Mandir Opening Timings:

There is no Entry Fees to visit the temple and the temple is open all days with timings as follows: 8:00am to 11:00am in the morning & 5:30pm to 7:00 pm in the evening, during this period major rituals of daily routine for Lord Krishna are performed like Archana, Aarti and Abhishekam.

The timings are subjected to change on special occasions, festivals & events.

To reach Shahji temple one must reach Mathura through train or roadway and then move to Vrindavan lies on Nh2 about 12.3 Kms via Mathura Vrindavan marg, considering traffic caused delays.
